About the event

📣 Calling all BOLD Girls & Allies in grades 7-12 who are passionate about becoming changemakers! 

Do you have a great idea that you think could make a positive change, but you're not sure how to make it a reality? Ever wondered how for-good businesses, nonprofits, or social impact initiatives got started? Perhaps you're working on a solution for the Changemaker Challenge and are ready to refine it? Bring your idea or your curiosity to the next What's Possible Workshop, "Startups for Good", and learn the fundamentals of social entrepreneurship. We'll be joined by female founders and other leaders in the startup world to take our ideas to the next level to help get them ready to launch into the world.

In this workshop, you'll get to dive into the world of business planning! We'll help you figure out:

  • The problem you are trying to solve
  • Your target audience
  • What makes your idea different
  • How you’ll share your idea with the world

This workshop isn't just about business skills; it's also a chance to build teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills – all important for making a positive impact through social entrepreneurship! For those of you who want more advanced skills to make a bigger impact, we highly encourage you to create a preliminary solution proposal to join our Changemaker Challenge. Bring your preliminary proposal to the workshop and you will receive additional expert coaching to hone your idea.

We're thrilled to welcome Alessya Visnjic as our presenter! 

Alessya Visnjic is the co-founder & CEO of WhyLabs, the AI Observability company. Prior to WhyLabs, Alessya was a CTO-in-residence at the Allen Institute for AI, where she evaluated commercial potential for the latest AI research. Earlier, Alessya spent 9 years at Amazon leading AI initiatives. Alessya is the founder of Rsqrd AI, a global community of AI practitioners who are committed to making enterprise AI technology robust and responsible. Alessya holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and an M.S. in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington. Outside of work, Alessya loves chasing her two little daughters around the house, cooking, playing Beat Saber, and traveling.
